It’s harvest season, and Elaine Meder-Wilgus and her team at Webster’s Bookstore & Cafe know how to make the most of the bounty of our land. Come for a six-course vegan tasting menu, including a cheese course, and stay for the pairings of poetry, short plays and music.

Falafel kabobs
Fresh Fruit skewers
Vegetable platter w/ assorted vegan dips

Soup and Salad Course

Chilled cucumber soup
Melon soup
Dressed greens with sliced pears and walnuts

Cheese course

Caprese salad with smoked “Gooda Cheez,” sliced tomatoes, and fresh basil
Pesto and Cheddar-style cheez formed with fresh herbs for spreading on toast points

Entrée course

Beet patties with shredded fennel, pea shoots, and cashew cream
Zucchini noodle nests with walnut pate and spicy Thai-hini drizzle
Quinoa pilaf with fresh corn, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil

Main course

Polenta with nectarine pepper sauce and grilled mushrooms
Pasta with spicy olive sauce
Grilled eggplant layered with roasted poblanos and curried mashed potatoes


Grilled peaches with soy ice cream, drizzled in balsamic reduction
